Hairstyles to Love: Peek-a-Boo Braids

Braided hair is a very popular trend around the globe. So the peek-a-boo braid trend began. In case you don’t know what this hairstyle means, it’s when a hairstyle is incoporated with braids in different areas. Like a long wavy hair has a little portion in it that is braided or the hair is swept back and then a surprise braided hair will be seen on top. I’ve always tried the simplest braid on top of a loose hairstyle so I’m going to challenge you guys to try these five different hairstyles as seen in the pictures. Are you up for it? Let me know in the comment section below!

Blush-on Mania!

Blush-on comes in different forms, sizes and types. Basically, there are 5 types of blush on’s, cheek tints (or they sometimes call it the gel blush or cheek stains), cream blush, powder blush (the most common form), skin illuminators or bronzers and combination of blushes that works well with your skin. A bit of a reminder though before you go on and apply your favorite blush on, always put on a small amount first and then just add more if you want more color. The tendency of applying large amount of blush-on is the fact that it may be too much and you’ll have a hard time erasing it, the you’ll have to start all over again.

Here’s a bit of story about blush-ons and their corresponding pictures:

Powder blush is the most popular blush which is because it is very easy to apply and it basically works for every skin type. This is very good for people with oily skin as it can keep the oiliness at bay but for dry and older skin, powder blush may make your fine lines appear. But don’t worry, you can avoid the blush on from settling in your face lines by putting a good moisturizer first, primer, then foundation and apply powder. This way, you’ll have a smooth base for your blush on to set.

Cream blush is another popular blush on that many of us use everyday. what I love about this blush on is you can just use your finger and you’re good to go. But some people prefer to use sponges and it’s okay, but you have to remember that sponges absorb the cream blush quickly so you have to apply it fast. Cream blush is perfect for dry and older skin.

Cheek stains are definitely my favorite blush, it’s fast absorbing, easy to apply and you can just reapply anywhere. A lowdown on this type of blush though is when you apply at the wrong part of your face or you put too much cheek tint, it will absorb quickly and you need soap and water or a make-up remover to remove the blush on. So as I said a while ago, start applying with a small amount then add more if you want more color.

Skin illuminators can be applied all over your face and shoulders. But it is also used as blush-on, just like bronzers, to add more freshness and glowing to your skin. Everybody can use it ofcourse and please don’t overdo applying illuminators or you’ll end up looking like a disco ball. We don’t want that do we?

Then lastly, the type of blush that blends with your skin perfectly. An example would be O-Glow. It comes in one shade but when applied to your skin, it will add color and that’s it! Application of these blushes is the tricky part. Again, start by putting just a little amount and spread it in your cheeks. Don’t be fooled by it’s color, colorless.
