On a budget? Don’t worry, you can still pamper yourself! There are many DIY (do it yourself) recipes for at home facials, skin care, hair treatments and many others. Customize your DIY recipe for your skincare needs, naturally and affordably. All you need to do is take a little trip into your kitchen or if needed, the grocery store. Want to clear up some acne? How about exfoliating some dullness? Need to add a little moisture to your face? We have the solution, and you can get it for a fraction of the cost! Here is how to do it!
To start, you are going to need a empty container or bowl to put your product in. You are also going to need a small container of plain yogurt. Greek is preferable, but if you don’t have that, just plain will do! No matter what your skin type is, everyone can use plain yogurt. The yogurt will help gently exfoliate and moisturize without irritating your skin, even if it’s sensitive! Yogurt is also known to help firm up skin.
*Make sure you have washed and toned your skin before applying any of the following face masks!
For Dry skin…
Add a tbsp of honey to your yogurt. Using honey will help add moisture deeper into your skin barrier when used in conjunction to the yogurt. This will help add a deeper hydration to your face. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
If you have acne…
Add a 1/4 of a mashed, ripe banana to your yogurt. The banana has vitamine B2, B6 and B12 in it, which will help reduce skin inflammation, and make your skin soft and supple. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Please note, you can also use this mask just on pimples to help dry them out and bring down inflammation.
For dull, aging skin…
Add 2 tablespoons of ground raw oats or walnuts. You can ground up both using a blender until they are a sand consistency. Apply on your skin in a generous manor and lease on for 15 minutes. Before rinsing off, gentle scrub in soft, circular motions.
Double your recipe to make sure you have enough for the whole week. Continue using this mask 2-3 times a week for noticeable results.
