Styling 101 For Your Body Type

Body issues–we all have it. Even models and famous actresses have certain issues with their bodies. The fact is, every one of us is unique in our own right. Loving your body is a step towards having more confidence in enhancing your personal style. Here’s a quick look at some styling tips and tricks for your body type:

PETITE FRAME

If height and frame were an issue, these things certainly did not show much on actresses like Natalie Portman, Lady Gaga, Eva Longoria, Emma Watson and countless others. Petite women should try dressing in one color (monochromatic dressing) from head to toe in order to appear taller. You can use clothes in shades of navy blue, purple, or dark shades to appear leaner and slimmer. Wear high heels and clothes that fit well. Avoid clothes with too much print as these add bulk to your frame making it appear that you’re bigger than you really are.

 TALL WOMEN

Many tall women feel they need to hide under their clothes to mask how tall they are. Well, this seems to be untrue for tall and pretty singer, Taylor Swift who stands 5 feet and 11 inches tall. Bold prints and short haircuts will look great on you if you are tall. Don’t be afraid to wear heels and beautiful shoes. Chances are, when people see you, they will go over you from head to foot and the best way is to show off your feet with nice pair of shoes. Get some over sized accessories like bags and belts but better be sure to just use one big accessory per outfit. Choose interesting necklines to highlight your neck and wear clothes with a pop of color.

CURVY WOMEN

Curvy sisters unite! Just ask Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce, and Kim Kardashian (or even the makers of the coke bottle). The most loved of all body types, you are considered to be the sexiest of them all. To highlight this fact even more, you should highlight your waist and wear waist centric pieces. Wear only well-fitted clothes that are neither too big or too small. Wear pencil or A-line skirts to for a sexier silhouette.

HOT NEW HAIR TRENDS FOR SPRING 2012

This springs hair trends are all about easy, elegant, minimal and natural beauty.  Say goodbye (for now) to those tricky waterfall braids, or the easy top knot you do once a week to catch a few extra Zzzs.  If you want to be fashionable and start this seasons new trends, then follow these simple looks and you will be the center of attention.

Wet Effect

This has got to be the easiest look of the season!  Low-maintenance, barely dried, wet hair.  Towel try your hair and apply a bit of Moroccan or Argon oil all over, making sure to avoid your roots.  This is a look that looks gorgeous paired with a bold eye or lip color.

Pony’s

Ponytails are back and they are ready to take action!  High, low, three in a row, pony-buns, wavy, curly, straight.  Whatever you choose, this simple style will take no more then 5 minutes of your time.

Wavy

The beachy waves are back, looking like you took no time at all on your hair.  Simply take a blow-dryer to your hair, add a bit of curl to the ends with your straightener and apply a dab of wax.  Create just enough messy-ness with your hands to your liking.

Side Parting

Adding a side part to any ponytail or loose hair style will instantly add a bit of preppy-ness.  Add a bit of gel or hairspray to keep all loose ends behind your ear.  This look is meant to be sleek and perfect.  Stylish and sophisticated, voila!

The slick back

You wouldn’t normally think of “the slick back” as a woman’s hairstyle, it’s usually reserved for a short back and sides in the barber shop -  However, I think the women pull it off better!

To achieve this look correctly, you will need to pull your hair back from your forehead. Make sure there are no strands loose and it is smoothed out to your head.  Apply a serum that holds your hair in place, or if you wish, you can use gel.  Leave the ends natural or make them wavy!

Accessorize

Take this seasons updo’s and add a bit of glam by adding a pin, feathers, pearls or any other decorative hair accessory you may have.  It doesn’t always have to be bland and perfect – GLAM IT UP.

Centre Parting

It’s back!!  Kate Moss loves it, Elle McPherson loves it, WE love it.  This no hassle part is one of the easiest.  This style looks good on everyone, and it is super easy.  A simple kink or curl will add flavor to this classic part, so go ahead and shake it up.

Blowout

BIG hair is in! It is glamorous, light and stunning.  This season’s voluminous, bouncy blowout is sure to be the head turner.  Simply apply a generous amount of mousse, set hair in curlers then release and spray away.
